I am trying to decide whether I want to switch to Thunderbird.
I want to make some rather large distribution lists and I don't
want to have to redo the work when it's time to switch to Vista.
I take it you have Windows XP now? If so, you could install
Windows Live Mail WLM), develop your distribution lists, then
install WLM on Vista, and you could copy your whole Contacts
folder over from XP to Vista. Since that method doesn't use the
export/import process, it retains all the Groups information.
Even easier (no copying required): Allow your XP WLM to sync its
contacts to a Hotmail account. Then your Vista WLM can sync to
the same Hotmail contacts. I just tested this, and all Group info
is also synced.
