I'm very disappointed that windows mail doesn't support folders in the
contact area. I hope some one from Microsoft see this and they reconsider
putting a update to re add this feature. I just got this computer and already
I want to send it back. I really need folders to keep my contacts sorted.
Either add the option or let me download the old Outlook to install. And
buying Office outlook is not a option.

Sorry I didn't state about using the contact folders in the e-mail area of
the To, Cc, & Bcc area. I also know that there is groups but maybe I'm not
understanding groups but when you click on the group icon all those contacts
are going to get the same e-mail correct. I have approx. 200 contacts. Some
are business related, some friends, family ect. Ok I want to contact one of
the business contacts about ordering a part. So now I have to sort thru 200
contacts to find them. Or use the group icon and send the same e-mail to all
the companies that's in the group area. But not all those companies sale that
particular part. So why would I send them a e-mail if I know that they don't
sale something. I hope this has put things more into perspective of what I'm
trying to deal with and a lot of other window mail users. I really hate to
change e-mail programs but until microsoft comes up with a fix for this
issue. I'm almost going to have to do that. And by looking at the post in the
discussion area there are quit a few doing the same thing. Thank You for your
time.

You would probably be happier with Windows Live Mail.
Its contact groups can be pruned on the To line.

No Thank You. I don't want more trouble. Plus advertisement placed on my out
going e-mails.

What in the world makes you think there are ads in WLM?
You are obviously misinformed.

I’m going to give you the benefit of doubt on the advertisement section on
the e-mails because I do not have this program installed on my computer and
will not be installing it. Even though you say there is no advertisements on
the e-mails there are additional advertisement or Microsoft would not be
giving it out free also if you read their privacy statement it will tell you
there is advertisements. Another thing Why do I need a yahoo premium account
I have an e-mail provider why do I need another. Why would I want my e-mails
bouncing all over the country or countries? It comes to my provider it’s a
done deal now I have no idea where it’s going. Why should I have to install
any additional programming I was quite happy with Outlook express never had
any problems with it. When I bought the new computer I never really give it a
thought that they would have changed anything. I don’t really care if they
change the name but to change a program so dramatic that a person wants to
ditch the whole computer there is something wrong. Did Microsoft ever ask
their customers there point of view. Apparently not because I see in this
discussion forum there are others not happy & probably more that are not
brave enough or don’t have the time to sit and argue with a bunch of block
heads. And that is putting it politely.

If you want to see more from people who actually use Windows Live Mail,
most of them are over on newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop
