Constant Crashes

HELP

My system crashes about 3 times a day. Sometimes it shuts downs and restrats

I can not run a diagnostic; defragment or full system scan using Norton Anti-Virus. It appears to go fine and then the computer will just shut down when running the above

I have a Compaq Presario 1510US Notebook with Windows XP Home

Hi, Yvette. Unfortunately, this isn't enough information to get a good
answer. It could be software or hardware causing your problems. What
changed between the time things worked and the time things didn't? Does
the laptop feel very hot to the touch? Can you get into Safe Mode and
scan with NAV there? To access Safe Mode, restart the laptop and as it
is starting, repeatedly tap F8. This will get you to the proper menu to
choose Safe Mode.
