Go to Start...Settings...Control Panel...Sounds, Sounds tab. In the Program events window, scroll down to the Explorer section. Click on "Complete Navigation" entry to highlight it, then select "None" in the Sounds drop-down box, click Apply. Then do the same for the "Start Navigation" entry.
