Considering upgrade to Vista Ultimate

I am considering upgrade to Vista Ultimate, but my computer configuration is
P4 2.6G CPU, 2G RAM, FX5600 Ultra display card. Is this configuration run
Vista smoothly? any problem? Also, I have a digital voice recorder and a
software connecting it to Windows XP. Can this software run under Vista?

Not sure on the software, but Vista Ultimate will run good on that
configuration.

The 2GB of RAM will help out a lot. The graphics card is great for the 2D of
Vista, although the gaming will be lacking a little (the 5xxx series of
NVIDIA cards weren't that great to begin with!). The CPU should do fine.

IMO there's no point in upgrading to Ultimate unless you have a TV card
in.

Is there a reason for Vista Ultimate instead of Home Premium for you?
Do you need the Business side pieces as well?

Well that would be true of Home Premium as well. So you're suggesting
Vista Home Basic?????

Your machine will run Vista just fine. You may want to think about upgrading
your video card though. Check Tomshardware.com they just did a best video
card for your money and upgraded for February last week.
