Turn everything off including PC, Router, Cable Modem (and any other boxes
between modem and the cable).

Turn them back on on order starting with the box nearest the cable then the
next one all the way to your PC. If several boxes are plugged into one
extenstion lead you may have to physically unplug them. The power up
sequence can be important and sometimes you need to wait 5 mins between
powering up each box in the chain. For example my router can take 10 mins+
to get an IP address from my ISP but after that it's ok until the next power
cut. If I don't wait those 10 mins before powering up my PC I have to start
over.
