I've got 2 machine connect via a router

Linux Enterprise V4 <--> D-Link Routner <--> XP Professsional with Service
Pack 2

Linux IP 192.168.0.101 static IP
D-Link Router IP 192.168.0.1
XP Pro (SP2) IP 192.168.0.100 assing via dhcp

XP Windows Firewall -> disabled

I can ping from the XP machine to the router and the linux box.
From the linux box I can ping the router, BUT NOT THE XP BOX.

What is truly weird is when I ping the XP's IP address, it does not return,
it just times out.

Any idea how to fix this.

I tried a static IP on the Window machine. Didn't work, lost my connection
to the internet and the Linux box.

Help! I need to access my Oracle DB on the linux machine. Clients are
waiting.

Yeah, I know, I'm replying to myself but bear with me.

I fixed the problem... and it even weirder.

I has disable the Firewall but apparently you still have to open the
exceptions tab and enable 'Files and Printer sharing'.

Now I can ping away.
