A Win2K computer shows a connection, but doesn't connect
to the network domain. It sends packets, but packets
received shows 0. What's the solution for this. I have
tried removing the computer name from the domain, and put
it back, it didn't work; I changed the cable, it worked
for a little while, then the problem came back. If it's
not showing packects received, where can I fix this???

Thank you.

it sounds like your nic and switch arent talking very well.

what is the NIC and Switch that you are using?

actually,

start>run>cmd.exe
then type:

ipconfig /all

(you have to put the space in there)

look at the driver on the NIC and make sure it is set to AUTO (for link
speed and duplex) or force to 10 half, or 100 half (depending on what the
hub will do.

Are you certain that you are using a hub, and not a switch. there is a
difference (not trying to be snooty...) and it will have a significant
impact on our abililty to help you diagnose and troubleshoot. Hubs will not
do full-duplex, while switches will. If your NIC isnt negotiating the
connection properly, you will experience the types of issues you are
having.

thanks,

try forcing the NIC diver to 10mb Half duplex and see if that helps.
