My network connection was working until I upgraded my
computer to with a new ASUS motherboard and 64 bit
processor - motherboard having built in ethernet.

Now I cannot get the adapter to obtain an automatic IP /
DNS from the NETGEAR wireless router I have. I have
tried deleting the winsock and winsock2 entries in the
registry and reinstalling the adapters - still no luck.
According to the netdiag /test:winsock, there was a
winsock failure.

Ideas?

also check your dhcp server settings.

Two other computers accessing the router are working fine
so the DHCP server settings are correct for the router.
My computer is set to aquire automatically.

Other ideas - I will look at the website.
