connection failed...

please help... every time i try to send or receive messages from winmail i
get this error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.comcast.net',
Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

....but my internet connection is fine. what's the problem?

Did Windows Mail ever work on that computer?
If the failures began recently, when did it start?
Have you tried any other email programs?
Are you running either McAfee or Norton antivirus?

yeah, I know... but I found that port change when I searched for that error
number....
and the OP only posted one error message.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Beside that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.
