connection dialog box

I'm on dial up and when my connection dialog box comes up
the "SAVE USERNAME AND PASSWORD" box is greyed out.
Therefore I can't save my info and have to retype it each
time I want to dial up. Obviously there is a missing file
or something, how do I know what the file is or where to
locate it on the system to see if it is missing.
