connecting XP to a Windows NT server

I'm the new technology coordinator for a small district.
Most of what they need done is a little over my head,
only because I've never done it before and I don't have
anyone around to answer my questions. The district is
running on a Windows NT 4.0 server, and they just
purchased new computers for the office staff with Windows
XP on them. My problem is, that I cannot connect the
computers with XP to the server. It keeps telling me
that there is no client for this connection. CAN I
connect them? If I can...PLEASE tell me how!!!

ANY help is GREATLY appreciated.

How are you trying to connect these machines, over a LAN
connection using TCP/IP ?
Give a little more information, please...
