windows xp home connecting to a windows nt 3.5 server

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS XP HOME ON
IT. IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT TO A NETWORK SERVER THAT
HAS WINDOWS NT 3.5 ON IT? IF SO HOW, FOR SOME REASON I
CANNOT SEE THE SERVER FROM THE COMPUTER WITH XP AND
CANNOT SEE THE COMPUTER WITH XP ON THE NETWORK.
 
It seems the caps lock key is stuck on your keyboard as
well. You may not get help if you "yell"
