Connecting Win2000 Domains

Adam

I currently have been tasked to connect two seperate
companies using existing Win2000 Domains at both. One has
domain abc.com and the other is cba.com(seperate domain
names), I've never attempted this so I'm not sure where
to start.

I have a dedicated T-1 set between the two locations and
can ping the controller at each site. However I can't
connect to the domains in AD Domains and Trusts.

How do I go about setting this up? Also there is an issue
with name resolution, ip address ping works fine, but if
I try to ping abc.com from cba.com I get "Ping request
could not find host abc.com. Please check the name and
try again."

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

My guess is this is a DNS issue. If you do nslookup from a DC at each end,
can you lookup a DC in the opposing domain?

As it is Windows 2000 I would suggest setting up secondaries of each DNS
zone on your respective DNS servers. You may also need to change the DNS
search suffix also to include the new namespace
