Connecting two vista laptops

Last weekend my friend and I got together hoping to connect our laptops (both
running vista home premium) for some filesharing and some lan gaming. We
tried to connect wirelessly over a temp network and by using an ethernet
cable. At one stage using the cable, the other laptop could see my laptop and
get into the shared files but not the other direction, ie my laptop could not
see his laptop.

We tried many many different things, including the wireless ad-hoc which
didnt work at all. We both had filesharing and discovery turned on etc.

Any suggestions would be a great help! Cheers

If you can see the remote computer but shared folder, make sure you have enable sharing. If you can't see it, check the firewall first. this link may help,

Tiger9999187,

Here is an article on creating an ad-hoc network. Let me know if this
doesn't work for you, proviidng both laptops have working wireless NICs.
