Connecting through my PC.

Recently I tried connecting from my Cable Modem to my PC via USB, rather than
through the ethernet port. Everything there works well. Although I'm now
trying to arrange it so that I can connect another device to that PC via the
empty ethernet port, and then through to the internet; however, I've been
unsuccessful thus far. Any help on how I may go about arranging this network
would be appreciated.
