connecting my pc to tv

Before I installed XP I could connect my pc to my tv and
watch the dvds on my tv screen. Now that I have XP I
can't find a way to do this. Please help me so that I
don't have to watch them on my small laptop screen!

a) Ensure you have downloaded and installed the latest graphics drivers
from your notebook manufacturer's website.

b) Connect TV to PC. Turn TV on.

c) Reboot PC. WindowsXP should now know there is a TV attached to it. It
cannot 'see' a device that is turned off!

d) Right click on the desktop and select Properties. From the Settings
tab, click on Advanced. Then click on the Monitor tab. There should be an
option here to 'switch' output from notebook screen to TV.
