"connect to" message box appears after hyperlink

This is a new issue I have run into.
When I hyperlink from my webpage to a Word document
located on the webserver, it will open fine.

However, when I go to close the Word document,
the "Connect to" message box appears, asking for the
username & password to connect to my webserver.
It's quite annoying.

How can I prevent this "connect to" message box from
appearing?

Is this happening to you on the same PC that you use to edit/publish the web
site? If so, the only way to prevent it is to delete the web folder for that
web under My Network Places. But the next time you open or publish that web,
the entry will be recreated.
