Connect 98 to XP

After attempting to connect my old windows 98 computer to XP whenever i try to access shared files on the XP, or click on the computer name in Network Neighbourhood it says "you must supply a password to make this connection, resource: \\compname\ipc$"
I have tried the password for my amin account but that doesnt work, i would rather be able to connect without having to specify a password like i can with my other XP computer to this XP
I can ping both computers from one anothe

Any help would be appreciate

The IPC$ prompt indicates a problem with user validation. There's no
correct response to it.

Run the Network Setup Wizard on XP to fully enable file sharing.
That's usually all that's needed:

XP ICS - Starting the Network Setup Wizard
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/networksetupwiz.htm

If you've explicitly defined a password for XP's Guest account, enter
that password at the prompt.

If you have XP Professional and have explicitly disabled "simple file
sharing", create a user account on XP Professional with the same user
name and password that you use to log onto Windows 98.

I have the same problem logging on from 98 to XP Home.
will try resetting the guest account password and will let
you know how it works. However I ran the wizard several
times and it didn't seem to matter. Internet connection
sharing works but not file sharing from the xp
