Hi all
I have 2 pc on the same class ( 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 )
I can ping each other, as I can access to web servers and ftp
I simply wish to access to shared folders .
Also trying to access troght \\192.168.0.1 an error message appears :
'network path not found'
In the second computer ,trying to access to itself ( \\192.168.0.1 ) or to
the other ( \\192.168.0.2 ) another error message appears :
What can I do ????
Please help me !!!

Are two different domains , but at least it should connect to himself
I'm expecting also it asks me the authentication

Make sure both nics are running at the same link speed and duplex setting.
I've found that if those are not the same, they won't communicate other than
ping each other.

Properties of My Computer, Hardware Tab, Device Manager. Expand the Network
Cards category. Right click on the NIC and go to properties.
On the advanced tab, look for something like "Link speed" or "Line Speed" or
"Duplex setting"

(Each vendor of Network Cards assigns different names to this.. you'll want
to set it as high as the connection medium between them will support. If
you have a 100Mbps hub or switch connecting them, set it at that speed with
Full Duplex.

If you're connecting these two machines together directly (no hub, just
machine to machine) you'll want to make sure you have a cross-over cable
instead of a regular network cable to connect them.

Andrea,

What operating systems are on the two pcs? Is there a firewall on
either?

From each pc, do this: Start - Run "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt",
then open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, and copy and paste contents into
your next post.

Cheers,

Chuck
