Your series of posts is one the best trolls I've seen in a while.
Multiposting instead of crossposting was genius.
 
Need any data tapes for your TI-99? I just ran across a couple at home while
cleaning the basement.

I can remember when my Dad bought his TI-99. Mom didn't care for computers,
but she would sit down and type in program listings that Dad would find in
computer magazines, and carefully save them to cassette tape, carefully
recording the tape counter setting at the start and end of each program.

of course Dad would then come along, load the program, and without even
thinking, promptly record right over the tape. Mom would get soooo
pissed....


BTW, old Timex Sinclairs and the radio Shack version, make perfect doorstops
due to their wedge shape.

Do you suppose dad stored credit card information in the tapes?
 
I bought a TI 99(i guess) when I was in junior high. It was the only way I
could get a TV in my bedroom....since the machine did not have a dedicated
monitor, I convinced my mom that I needed to buy a B&W TV so I could use the
computer....

Since I did not program, did not have money to buy programs, I more or less
just watched TV on it.. ;-)
