Confused

I have a very weird situation at my job. A user had a PC
that had problems seeing certain programs on the
network. We figured it was because it was an old machine
and the configurations were screwed up from the prior
staff. The computer can ping servers on the network but
the servers cant ping it back. So we gave the user a
brand new machine and it is still happening. We have
given the machine a new name, I made sure it was in DCHP,
WINS & DNS. I even hooked it up to a new port. Now the
funny thing is, when we had it in the tech room it had no
problems doing any of this. Once this user logs in or we
copied her files to the new PC it got screwed up. Now
anyone that logs in cant run any of the programs this PC
used to be able to run. I have come to an dead end.
Someone please help.

Someone please help.

If you can ping in one direction but not in the other then
you are most likely dealing with a firewall issue.

If the PC works fine in one place but not in another
place then you are probably dealing with a hardware
issue:
- Bad cabling
- Bad hub/switch port
- Bad network adapter
- Incompatible adapter speed (set it to 10 MBits/s half
duplex for the duration of the test).
