Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago i noticed that whenever i open "my computer" or
windows explorer it searches (showing the flashlight) fora minute or before
displaying any drives/files.
ALSO, my device manager list was completely empty.
After searching the internet i discovered many other users with the same
problem, the cause was an automatic download security update KB905749.
After uninstalling the update my device manager list is restored and "my
computer" no longer has a delay.
Other users have discovered deleting certain invalid registry keys in the
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\USB also solves the empty device
manager list problem, but doesnt solve the slow "my computer" issue.
My question is, are Microsoft aware of this conflict and is there an
official fix for it?
