confining workspace to a limited number of columns

I am trying to make a fill in the blank worksheet for my boss. I've locked
out the cells he does not have access to and have protected the worksheet.
Now he should be able to tab through the available cells and fill in the
blanks. However the tab key takes him outside the columns I have used in the
worksheet and I cannot figure out how to stop that.

My problem is I'm using columns A-T and my curser keeps going out to
columns u-zz when I press the tab key in the last blank to be filled in in
column T. This is what I need to stop. I want the curser to go to the next
line down in my document not keep going out into the space not on my page out
to the right. any suggestions would be appreciated. Colemererealty

When you protected the worksheet, did you un-check "Select Locked Cells"?

Glenn, first I used format-cell-protection-and locked out the cells within
columns a-t that I did not want to be able to type in. then I went to tools
- protection- protect sheet and checked select unlocked cells in order to
allow typing in the unlocked cells and no typing in the locked cells. Did I
do it backwards? because everything works great except when I type the TAB
key the curser goes out to the unused columns not on my page. thanks so much
for helping. colemererealty

First, select the entire worksheet, Format / Cells / Protection / check
"Locked". Make sure it is a solid check, not greyed.

Second, select the cells you want to allow typing in, Format / Cells /
Protection / un-check "Locked".

Third, Tools / Protection / Protect Sheet / un-check "Select locked cells" /
check "Select unlocked cells".

See if that works.

Lock all the columns past T

Your Tab will stop at T and go back to A one row down.

I'll try it. I have to leave now so if I get stuck later I'll get back to
you. Thanks ever so much for your help. colemererealty.
