Configuring XP PRO for home LAN

My computers and printers are connected to a Draytek Vigor 2600 ADSL
modem/switch with 4 ethernet ports. An 8-port Netgear switch is attached to
the Vigor giving me10 usable ports for connection.
In terms of setting these up I am not sure which option to take in the
Network Setup Wizard.

Under Network Setup Wizard there are 2 options which are not unlike each
other:
1 reads "this computer connects to the Internet through a rsidential
gateway or through another computer on my network. View an example".
2 Under Other Internet connection methods "This computer connects to the
Internet directly or though a network hub. Other computers on my network
also connect to the Internet directly or through a hub. View an example.

Would someone kindly advise me which option is correct.

Use option 2. Option 1 will set up ICS to connect through another PC which
has the internet connection. You are connecting through a router so don't
need it.

Option 1 is correct. It sets up a computer to connect to the Internet
through a router (which the Wizard calls a "residential gateway") or
through another computer. The Vigor 2600 is an ADSL router, not just
a modem/switch:

Option 2 is for computers that connect directly to the Internet
through a hub or switch, not through a router. Such computers
typically have public IP addresses that are accessible by other people
on the Internet, so specifying Option 2 causes the Wizard to configure
the Windows Firewall to block file and printer sharing.
