Hi

Ive just recently upgraded from win2000 to XP Pro. I would like to get
the icons on my desktop without the outlined colour block (as they appeared
in previous versions). I have my theme set to XP and i though that was all i
had to do, but each icon still has a block of colour behind the textual
description....

Can someone help...

Thanks in advance
Martin

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab)
and uncheck "Lock Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY.

Also, check this setting:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply".

At Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance click Settings - in
the Panel, check 'Use Drop shadows for Icon titles'
