I have just installed SUS server onto my machine and am
trying to get the client update to look at it.

I have configured the registry as per instructions (i.e.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Micrsoft\Windows\Windo
wsUpdate\

WUServer -> http://susserver
WUStatusServer -> http://susserver

The client computers however are still being directed to
microsoft's update site and not my SUS server. Windows
Update.log verifies this.

Any suggestions?? What am I doing wrong??

You should use AD to configure Group Policy for the OU
contains clients. Server 2003 has the administrative
template when you install DC. Win2K DC needs the template
wuau.adm added. The settings for Computer has Windows
Update in Windows Components.

Are you using Group Policy to deploy the updates?? If you
are you dont need to mess around with the Registry Keys.
Just configure it in the GPO (your server name) and your
client should get it. As Bo said you need to add that
template -wuau.adm-.
