Configuring a Guest Account

I just started working at our Computer Sales department at my work. I know
Windows XP pretty well, but while working there I came across a problem no
one really knows how to fix.

The computer monitors keep shutting off every 20 minutes because of the
power scheme on the guest accounts. However, Windows XP doesn't let you
change the power scheme as a Guest.

My question is how do you change settings on a guest account?

On a related note, how do you change the default settings for every account?
As well as the log-in screen? I'd rather use the silver scheme than the blue
scheme.

a.. Run Regedit.exe as an administrator
b.. Browse to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls
Folder\PowerCfg
c.. Right-click on the "GlobalPowerPolicy" key and choose "Permissions".
d.. Click on the "Advanced" button.
e.. Click "Add".
f.. Type INTERACTIVE and click "Check names", then OK.
g.. Check the "Set value" and "Create Subkey" checkboxes in the "Allow"
column, and click OK, then OK, then OK.
h.. Do the same thing with the "PowerPolicies" key.
You should now be able to change the Guest accounts' power options.

Changing the default settings for every account can be done by modifying the
keys within HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT, and setting a system wide default theme and
wallpaper can be done with TweakUI

The registry editing fixed the problem with the guest account.

As for the program, I'll have to figure out how it works, but I'm sure it
will work as you describe. Thanks, you're the man.
