Configure Windows Mail to Microsoft Exchange Server Mail

Hi,

I have bought a HP Laptop with preinstalled Windows Vista. I have tried
setting up my mail to my company's Windows Exchange Server (like
bangmail.sysmail.com). like I used to in Windows XP.

First I dont get to see the mail option in the Control Panel. Then when I go
through Windows Mail>>Tools>>Accounts... I have only 2 options that work,
POP3 and IMAP. There is no Microsoft Exchange Server Option.

Can anyone help me on this. Tried google with keywords like configure
windows mail to microsoft exchange server, but I get links to how the
exchange server can be configured.

Thanks,
Arvind

Windows Mail does not have an Exchange Server mode.
I don't think Outlook Express did either.

Did you use Outlook with XP? You will get the Mail applet in
Control Panel only after you install Outlook.

Your server administrator has options to configure the Exchange
server so it works with all email clients.

Windows Mail only supports POP3 and IMAP (both of which are supported with
Exchange Server, provided your Exchange administrator has enabled them), it
does not support Exchange Server in native mode; for that, you need Office
Outlook. Note that Outlook is the default client supplied with an Exchange
Server, you should, therefore, have a client license to install Outlook on
this machine.
