Configure Outlook for non-networked PCs

Virgil

I'm new to the Outlook configuration world, so forgive me
if this question is ridiculous.

I want to configure Outlook 2000 to work on several non-
networked PCs and laptops to demonstrate how another
Office 2000 application (Windows 2000 OS) can use it.
However, I can't figure out if this is possible. Even the
manual setup seems to want an actual server. Is there an
easy way to configure Outlook to operate without a server
connection? At the office we can work Offline when the
network is down, but that's with a server configuration
and a default folder.

Hi Virgil,
so you want to use an external ISP for your clients?
Or do you use Exchange in your company?

We use an Exchange server at work. However, the PCs I'm
trying to configure Outlook on at not going to connect to
either an ISP or an Exchange server.

Install them in "No Mail" mode. If they're already installed what you
may be able to go to Tools | Services and just remove any services
listed.
