config.sys

Does Xp still use the config.sys file when booting?
I've just upgraded two computers to XP from win2000 and
now our accounting program doesn't run on them. I get a
message "Too many files open simultaneously error 014".
In win2000 we added a line to the config.sys file
of "FILES=128" to fix the problem but it doesn't seem to
work with XP. Any help please, Thanks Jason.

Win 2000 and XP are identical. Neither read config.sys. See c:\windows\system32\config.nt
