Once again...the fix already exist.
Keep Windows Updates On.

Too bad one in 16 computers didn't heed this advice and we have hundreds
of thousands of computers locked into net bots spewing out malware and spam.

Are you suggesting people should configure Automatic Updates to
automatically download and install without user intervention?

Unless you think you can decide for yourself what security updates you
need, then yes.
Obviously, 1 in 16 thought they new more than they did.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt wrong! It's common knowledge that one should close all
programs and disable the anti virus resident scan before installing
*anything*, especially Windows Updates.

Its not false.
You can install updates while using the PC.
Been that way for awhile.

Chuckle, keep telling yourself that. Vista has a registry and AV
programs check *everything* that's being installed. Can you connect the
dots? I didn't think so.
