Does anyone know if a computer with XP operating
system can be connected with a cable to transfer files
to an older 386 machine with the DOS or Windows 3.1
operating system? I tried running the file netsetup.exe on Windows 3.1 but
it will not run.

Thanks for any help.

Does the old 386 machine have a Ethernet (NIC) card or an
open slot so you can install a card? You should be able to
connect via Ethernet cross-over cable.
