Is there a way to make a conditional format permanent so it keeps the format
generated by the condition regardless if the condition is still met. Sort of
like paste special values?

Hi Dwight,

Don't think that the size would matter much in the time for pasting
into Word and back, if it works, but with round tripping code you
could be making things much larger -- you might want to check
the size of your workbook when you are doing such things,
including other suggestions.

Have you considered simply making a copy within Excel and
not changing the copy.

I have setup my Excel to HTML conversion to include coloring
from Conditional Formatting. Keep in mind that C.F. overrides
normal cell formatting, so when finished formatting Excel cells
you would eliminate C.F. altogether -- assume that is your intent.
Should be simple applying the change to the cell rather than
generating an HTML cell.
