Try this: In Excel versions 2003 and earlier Select cell BA3 Goto the menu Format>Conditional Formatting Select the Formula Is option Enter this formula in the box on the right: =AND(K3<>"",K3<DATE(2007,7,10)) Click the Format button Select the Patterns tab Select the black fill color OK out
