conditional formatting of an autoshape

Does anyone know how to have an autoshape change colour
based on a formula in another cell of the same workbook?

I need autoshapes to turn to different colours depending on numbers calculated from cells with formulas in it. Have read elsewhere that one needs to the code of the worksheet - but I'm woefully behind on such matters. Can anybody walk me through this?
