I have a linksys befsr4 wired to 3 desktops....i just added a netgear
4 port wireless router(for 3 laptops) and pluged it into the uplink
port on the linksys....i can get on the internet with all computers
but they cant see each other, all the computers pluged into the
linksys can see each other but cant see any of the wireless laptops,
and vise-versa.

Why did you plug it into the uplink port? Can you clarify? The desktop
group and laptop group are probably getting different subnets so they can't
see each other, can you verify this? What o/s? workgroup? correct
permissions?

Well, in theory you should be able to simply connect the wireless router to
one of the ports on the linksys with straight-thru cable. I'm not sure how
that will affect your subnets though because it may try to assign it's own
ips, but you want all ips to come from one place (the linksys). Basically,
you want the wireless router to act like a switch, not a router.
run ipconfig /all on each pc to make sure they are all on same subnet and
they should then be able to see each other.
Good luck.

My recommendation is to get rid of the Netgear device, they don't work ....
I had nothing but problems ... I suggest getting the same as the other
Linksys you have and plugging it into one of the ports in it.
