Have Windows 98, Office 2000.

When I push the buttons on the monitor and the modem,
nothing happens. It doesn't turn on. Had a severe snow
storm, but had a "power surge" attached to the wall.

What should I check for to pin point the problem.
My brother in law says it is a power problem? in
modem?

Computer is hardly used; not used for internet.

Thanks for any help.

First check to make sure that the is power coming thought the wall socket,
second check will be after the "power surge"!! My thinking with the snow
storm the computer should still work expect you got them wet! or may be in
the snow!

Power problem? Yes! in modem? not sure! because you say your monitor could
not be turn on as well!

Shing.
