Computer wont pass boot screen on XP

Hi,

I recently had to replace a dead mobo. At first it was working great,
but now when I start the machine, everything works great until the boot
screen. When it comes up, the bar will scroll. However it wont stop
scrolling. I leave it for 10 minunites, and it's still scrolling.

Here's what I did

c:\>fixboot didn't work

I tried the "Repair broken install" from the xp install menu, and now I
cant use safe mode.

What else can I do?

Start with your mother board, see if everything is hooked up properly.
Your mother board manual should be carefully checked for placements of plugs
and hookups.
Did you plug the power supply in so the two black wires are next to each
other if you have a two piece plug, you know, look real close, you may have
a loose connection.
Boot into the BIOS and check everything.
