Hi,
no matter how i set it up on power options on control panel, the computer
won't hibernate when running on batteries.
Is it a well know problem? Is there a fix?
Thanks

Hi, it's not old at all. Less than 1 yr old.

My current power options when running on batts are:

turn off monitor - 5m
turn off hd - never
system standby - never
system hibernates - 1 hour

Thanks

Is this sudden, new behavior or an ongoing problem since you purchased the
machine? Is the machine still under warranty or service contract?

Does this happen when the battery's fully charged? Do you store the battery
in its bay when you're running on AC power?

Open My Computer > Hover your cursor over the boot drive [typically Local
Disk (C:)] > Look in the status bar at the bottom of the window > What's the
Total Size and how much Free Space is available?

Does the notebook have an OEM-supplied Power Management application
installed, too?

If you configure (Windows) Power Management to turn off the HDD after 30
minutes and then close all open applications (i.e., anything with a taskbar
icon), does the machine hibernate?
