When I am down to 5% or less, my laptop use to hibernate no problem.
Now it starts to, then "jumps" out of it into normal mode until the
battery is drained the and the system shuts down suddenly.
Anyone know why?

What are your hibernation settings say in the hibernation tab < power options
< control panel? Sometimes when hibernation stops, these settings have been
adjusted or your swap file settings are off. There must be a minimum amount
of space assigned in the swap file settings that are required for the space
hibernation needs.....

Well that is odd. It is unchecked (the "enable hibernation" box). But
I KNOW I checked it last time. Actually this has happenned a couple of
times as before I thought maybe I was mistaken in my memory. But not
twice. No way.

I should have mentioned, this only happens when using a battery to it's
end. I can still manully go into hibernation mode.

It may turn itself off if the minimum size of the swap file is not met. It
would be a good idea to set the swap file manually with a minimun of 2 and a
maximum of (2xram size).....

I'm sorry I do not understand? I can't fund any "settings" for that.
But I did upgrade my RAM a months back. Maybe something to do with
that?
Now 1,280 MB RAM.
