When I start my computer, the green light comes on and some writing appears
briefly on my monitor and then the computer shuts down. Does this sound like a
bad hard drive or some other hardware problem perhaps. Please help
All suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Don

can you see any hard disk light?
seems to be a hard disk/hardware related problem.Best to consult a
technician and get the machine checked.

Have you done anything inside the computer recently?

I have not doe anything inside the machine. I had a blue screen that said a
critical operation had occured. I shut it down and tried to reboot but nothing
has happened. I cannot access the bios.

Thank You

If you cant access the bios [assuming you know the correct key to use]
then that most often means a bad internal or external part. And yes,
even a bad fan can cause one not to be able to access the bios.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I will remove the case cover and
go to work.
Have a great weekend
