computer turns on by itself

My computer turns on by itself. I was thinking maybe
there was a scheduled task assigned that was causing it
to do this but this is not the case. The company I
bought my computer from said I should perform a system
restore. However I don't feel this is the right idea
because I feel this could be a hardware problem. right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Most BIOS firmware has a scheduling system. Power on and
Power off.
 
Look in your BIOS setup for a feature called "Wake on LAN" or "Wake on Ring"
and disable it.
