computer stuck in guest acct. won't logg off or turn off

OK I'm having a problem with my windows xp sp2. I have 2 accounts on my
computer which is mine and the guest account. If my account is logged on and
someone uses the guest account it gets stuck there. When you press log off or
switch user it doesn't respond at all. Also, if I try to turn off the
computer it doesn't work either. It won't hibernate or standby or anything.
It just stays in the guest account with my account running. The only thing I
can do is press the power button which I REALLY hate doing. Does anyone have
ANY ideas???? I have no clue what it could be, I appreciate any advice.....
