computer startup scripts

I am trying to use computer startup scripts in my group
policy. I have created the batch file and it works fine
when ran from a dos prompt. I included the script in the
Group Policy under computer startup scripts and the client
recieves two errors in the event log. The first is "The
Group Policy client side extensions scripts was passed
flags (289) and returned a failure status code of (2).
The second is "Could not locate the script command lines
in the Group Policy Object". I'm not sure what I am doing
wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Where are you storing the script? Try storing it in the following location

\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\domain.com\Policies\{Policy
GUID}\MACHINE\Scripts\startup

I have it script file stored in that directory on all of
my active directory machines. Not sure how to debug
this. I can get it to work using logon scripts, but I
prefer to have it run when the computer starts up. Any
other suggestions?
