i am currently at work and my computer is acting funny. I
believe there is spywear on this computer. Can I download
a anti-spywear program on a computer connected to a
network or will i have to contact the IP person(s)? I
would rather do it myself. i'am hoping it is an easy
problem to fix. also, how can i find out if there is
spywear on this computer without downloading anti-spywear?
and can i erase the file? please help

In many companies, bypassing the IT (not IP) person, will get you fired.
Talk to him/her. Voice your concerns. Ask them what you should do. They may
have placed something on everyone's computer for a purpose, and
bypassing/eliminating it can get you in deep s**t.

Very good advice from Crusty! When I ran the Division IT
Operations, that was the bigget problem. Users loading
software that was not authorized, legal, virus free, etc.
You must and should contact your IT people. That is their
job and responsibility. They will help resolve problems.
