Hi,
I'm new to the site. For the past few weeks my computer has been switching
off for no reason in the middle of games, surfing, writing documents etc.
This is frustrating and also annoying if I have not saved my work. When I
start the computer again any unsaved data is lost and I also have to restore
my desktop. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Hi ,

This could be caused by a system failure. There is a option that you can
disable and when the machine shuts down for no reason then it should present
a error message which will tell us more about what could be causing this
issue.

To do this,

Right click on My Computer
Select Properties
This will open up System Properties
Select the Advanced Tab and select settings under Startup and Recovery
Remove the tick from "Automatically Restart"
Client Apply and OK

So next time the machine restarts by its self it will come up with an error.

Hi

Please have a look in the Event Viewer. From Start>Run type

eventvwr.msc

Click on the 3 entries in the left hand column and if you see any 'Errors'
could you please post the information under the 'Event' column and the
'Source' column?
