Computer shut down

I am have a problem with my new lap top computer. The
operating system is windows XP. When I am on the iintenet
or more than 5 to 8 minutes I get teh following message:
This system si shutting down. Please save all work in
progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost.
This shutdown wasn initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM

Message
Windows musht now restart because the Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.

I noticed when we loaded XP onto my desktop I had the same
problem so I removed XP and reinstalled 2000. Help
