Computer Restarts Itself After Shutdown

Any ideas on this one? This has just started happening recently. I have
no other problems with the computer. When I shut down my PC, a minute
or two later, it powers up all by itself without me pressing the power
button. This has happened twice the past few days but not all the time.
What would cause it to do that? This is not sleep mode, but fron a full
shutdown before I shut off the power strip / surge protector. I have XP
with service pack 2. Thanks. Tom

Hi Tom,

Disable everything that reads 'Wake up' in the BIOS settings. Also, I have
seen this behavior if you have a CD/DVD in the drive during a shutdown.

This edit allows you to configure Windows so that you receive verbose
startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff status messages. This may be helpful to
in troubleshooting slow startup, shutdown, logon, or logoff behavior.
