We networkd a Win98SE computer with a new WinXP Pro computer using a
crossover cable. The strange thing is the WinXP computer started rebooting
when being accessed by the Win98 computer over the LAN. The NIC on the
WinXP computer is onboard on an Asus motherboard. I'm wondering if it's
some sort of Boot On Lan. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance
Bobbie

More likely you're getting a fatal error on the WinXP computer and it's
rebooting before you can read the message. Right-click My Computer, select
Properties, then the Advanced tab, then click the Settings button under
Startup and Recovery, finally turn off the "Automatically Restart" option.
Then watch for an error screen when you try network access again.

Makes sense. Will do.
Thanks much!
